For shops with many designs, it cuts out the link-in-bio detour.
The seller sells several products, or different designs of the same product. A viewer who liked one design in a Reel used to tap the link in bio, then browse the website to find it. The Reel showed the exact design. The store made them look for it again.
The buy button sits on the Reel, and stock comes from Shopify
Product tagging is part of Instagram Shopping, and the seller says they only found it recently. In their telling, it works like this:
- A tagged Reel carries a call-to-action button, so it looks a lot like an ad.
- Viewers tap it and buy the product directly on Instagram.
- Inventory and sizes sync straight from Shopify through an app called Flexify, whose free plan the seller says is enough for this.
The seller pitches it as a free feature "to help you sell more," which is their expectation rather than a reported result. They also warn that it comes with a catch.
For a shop with many designs, the setup is easy to check against your own. Tag each product or design to the Reel that shows it, so the button leads to that exact item instead of the bio link. Then connect the Shopify catalog through a sync app, so stock and sizes on Instagram match the store.
